From the idyllic Southern Burgenland and proud Vas County, both in Western-Pannonia, to the most northern European wine pioneers in Groesbeek and the historically rich Saale-Unstrut river landscape, trekking and tasting around in green Vipava valley, biking alongside the sweet slopes and Danube strands of Ilok-Srijem, until finding endless sun, funny people and full bodied wines in the mountains of Bullas.
Bullas prepares his "huertano" costume to celebrate the Festivity of San Marcos the weekend of 23rd and 24th of April. It is one of his more popular parties.
Recently, the municipality of Bullas presented all the activities for that weekend that we can see in a brochure with a draw of the face of a "huertana" smiling for the occasion.
The winner of the poster to announce the festivity, Rosalia Meritxel García, received from the councilor hands, Antonio José Espín, a prize valued in 100 euros. She, also, has the honor to see her cartel in all Social Media.
The programme for San Marcos 2016 is as follows:
On Saturday 23rd at 10.00 the program stars with the official reception in the Museo del Vino for the groups taking part in the 34th Villa de Bullas National Folklore Festival. Later, at 11.30 in the Paseo Paco Rafal, near La Rafa, it follows an equestrian show.
In the afternoon, at 17.30 begins the performance of all groups invited for the Folklore Festival in the Plaza de España and when it ends, it will be celebrated a Huertano mass with the patron saint Virgen del Rosario.
As a novelty this year, the whole weekend we can enjoy tapas and beer for only 1 Euro in La Rafa Park by noon.
Events on Sunday 24th initiate bright and early with the procession sets out from the church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario at 8.00 to bless the fields and the crops in La Murta, featuring the images of San Isidro Labrador, Santa Maria de la Cabeza, San Juan Evangelista and the Virgen del Rosario. After the procession, the grand parade begins in the Plaza de España in the centre of Bullas with the colourful floats competing for prizes, and the party continues for children and adults in La Rafa. The party includes live music with a pop band after 20.00.
On the other hand, to promote the festivity through social media networks, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the Council of Bullas has created the hashtag #megustaSanMarcos.
